Cambridge Medical Robotics Ltd, the private company developing a next-generation system for universal minimal access surgery, today announces the appointment of Barry Carter as Head of Quality and Regulatory Affairs.
Barry Carter joins CMR from Sphere Medical plc where he was VP Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs and has a successful track record of improving processes, establishing quality systems and successfully moving innovative medical products through required regulatory processes. Barry has previously worked for Prosurgics (now Freehand Surgical plc), Coty and Spacelabs Healthcare.
Dr Paul Roberts, Operations Director, commented: “We were always determined to ensure that quality systems were embedded in our processes from an early stage and that we had as much clarity as possible of the clinical pathway for our next-generation robotic system. We are therefore very pleased that Barry has joined and look forward to the contribution we are confident he will make to CMR.”
Barry Carter said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at CMR. I look forward to laying the foundations for best practice quality systems and regulatory strategy at the earliest stage in the Company’s development.”
